an engagement is announced
Our much loved associate priest
has left us. We have had to learn
that he must be released
to a new place of blessing.
And now we find that we are faced
with losing Emily too.
Dear Matthew has surprised us,
for we had not thought him
the kind of worker who,
on leaving an employment,
might consider it okay
to pinch stuff from the office.

Matthew was our Associate Priest and Emily was the parish administrator. They announced their engagement soon after Matthew moved to his new parish.
